§ 62-78. Voluntary retirement.

  • Any member who has attained or attains his voluntary retirement age and has ten or more years of credited service, or five years for a general member not included in a labor agreement, a deputy fire chief member, and a deputy police chief member, or 15 years for a general member represented by Local No. 203, United Steelworkers of America, may retire upon his written application filed with the board setting forth at what time, not less than 30 days nor more than 90 days subsequent to the execution and filing thereof, he desires to be retired. Upon his retirement, a police officer or firefighter member shall receive a retirement allowance provided in section 62-80, and a general member shall receive a retirement allowance provided in section 62-81.
